2011
MEET STEVEN
In 2011, Steven decided to leave college and his day job to pursue his calling as an entrepreneur and founded That 1 Painter. In its early years, That 1 Painter was just Steven and a few hired friends painting homes together.
Steven Montgomery, founder of That 1 Painter & ResiBrands, discovered a passion for painting at a young age. Steven, the son of a professional painter, would often help his father with painting after school. He decided to continue learning long after his father retired from the painting business. While in college, Steven would borrow his father’s old equipment and help paint homes for his realtor mother and her colleagues’ clients.
2021
In 2021, That 1 Painter began its journey into franchising with a clear vision: to redefine the painting industry through professionalism, quality, and exceptional customer service. What started as a single location quickly transformed into a nationwide movement. Today, That 1 Painter is proud to be the fastest-growing painting franchise in the nation, with dozens of successful locations across the country and a strong reputation for delivering expert results and an extraordinary customer experience. This rapid growth is a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and supporting its franchise partners every step of the way.
MEET ALLAN
At the same time, Steven, and his business partner Allan, recognized the major need for top-to-bottom garage services in their area, so they decided to launch Garage Up in 2021. And since its founding, Garage Up has been on a mission to deliver customers the garage of their dreams: no disjointed or disorganized spatial flow allowed.
2022
In 2022, Steven and Allan founded ResiBrands to build some of the nation’s best home service brands. ResiBrands serves as the parent company for several brands. This structure allows ResiBrands to oversee and support the growth of these diverse home service brands.
In this same year, Garage Up began franchising.
2023
MEET CARTER + BRANDON
In 2023 ResiBrands formed a partnership with Pink's Window Services to support the launching of their first franchise in October of 2023. Pink’s was born out of Brandon and Carter’s shared desire to bring dignity back into the blue-collar service industry. They were both tired of hiring workers that showed up late or said they were going to fix something that they never got around to doing. Why is this an acceptable standard? They’re here to change that narrative by bringing back the days when you used to know and trust the people working on your home or business.

2024
Co-owner Codies Sanchez joined the Resi team in 2024, bringing additional expertise and commitment to the brand. Steven, Allan, and the Resi team are dedicated to maintaining their momentum to become the fastest-growing home service brand in the nation.

Monty’s Handyman is our 4th brand! Born out of a simple but powerful idea: every home deserves care, and every homeowner deserves kindness. What started as a vision to bring dependable, professional handyman services to our community quickly evolved into something more meaningful—a brand built not just on skill and craftsmanship, but on trust, empathy, and human connection. We saw a gap in the home services industry where reliability and heart were often missing, and we set out to fill it.

Big News for 2025!
We're excited to announce the official launch of Action Exteriors! Formerly known as Action Roofing, this trusted, family-owned business has been delivering outstanding service for three generations. In 2025, the Smola family joined the Resi family and began franchising their first locations—marking a new chapter with a fresh name and an expanded focus on more areas of the home.
And there’s more to come—Monty’s is set to launch later this year. Stay tuned!
Today
Montgomery shared his big-picture plans with professional colleagues at the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. Most doubted his vision, some laughed, and few said it was RIDICULOUS. ResiBrands only sets ridiculously high goals and nothing less. If we reach our goals, we celebrate; if we don’t, try again and set the bar higher! Big Goals = Big Wins.
