Can I Own Multiple Franchise Brands With the Same Franchisor?

I was asked recently:

“Can I own more than one franchise brand with the same franchisor?”

The answer is: sort of.

Let me explain.

It Depends on the Structure

Some franchise companies operate under a bigger platform brand.

Take Neighborly, for example.

Or, for us, Resi — which is a platform with several brands under its umbrella.

Each Brand Is Its Own Franchise

Even though they’re under the same platform, each brand is a separate franchisor.

That means each has its own franchise agreement.

So if you want to own multiple brands, you’ll need to sign separate agreements for each one.

You Can Own Multiple Brands, Sometimes in the Same City

The good news?

You can often own multiple brands — sometimes even in your own city.

That means more opportunities to grow your business portfolio.

So… Can I Own Multiple Franchise Brands With the Same Franchisor?

Yes, but with a few things to keep in mind.

Each brand is its own agreement.

You’ll need to manage each business separately.

But owning multiple brands under the same platform can be a smart way to diversify and expand.
